Joe Upshaw, 22 years old, died nine years ago. He was an engineering major at OSU and a leader in his fraternity. Under the influence of alcohol, he made a horrible decision to take a party drug, GHB, at his fraternity house and passed out. Joe died that night on April 21, 2000. Family and friends started the Joe Upshaw Memorial Project, JUMP, to support OSU's drug and alcohol awareness on campus. JUMP promotes staying safe and knowing what to do if a friend overdoses. Past contributions to JUMP have raised $49,000 for The Ohio State University Student Wellness Center's educational initiatives. It is our sincere hope that you will partner with JUMP and make a difference in raising drug and alcohol awareness. Together we can help students make wise choices. Plans are well underway for the 2009 Joe Upshaw Golf Classic. Now it's even easier to register your team or donate online. Go to Golf Outing Info to learn more about our annual golf outing event. |
